A weekend at home

This weekend saw us back to normal. After travelling out to the farm for the last 5 weeks, it was nice just to hang at home and enjoy the simpler, less complicated side of family life.

Saturday saw my son and I spend the morning on a traditional ‘boys day’. This is where we get an opportunity to spend some good quality time alone.

We spent Saturday morning shopping and bought a new footy (I buggered the last one). We couldn’t get home quick enough to have a kick outside. I am not sure what sport my son will play when he gets older, but he loves kicking a footy. In saying that he also enjoys hitting golf balls, playing cricket, soccer, hockey and challenging me to various running races.

Sunday was a great day weather wise in Melbourne and we took the opportunity to do some gardening. I mowed the lawns will my wife and son planted some flowers in the garden.

By far the best time was us all working in the backyard, my son and I working on our motorbikes and my wife gardening. I have a Yamaha and son has a Ducati (well he says it is his and I don’t argue with him). I am preparing the Yamaha for an upcoming track day. My son loves helping me with his tools and after some minor adjustments we washed both bikes.

The morning was just spent by us all doing simple things, but sometimes these are the best times as a family. We talked together, laughed together, played together – what more could you ask for.

Cheers

Dave

Chuck Norris Facts

Fact # 73 Chuck Norris was the fourth Wise man. He brought baby Jesus the gift of "beard". Jesus wore it proudly to his dying day. The other Wise men, jealous of Jesus' obvious gift favouritism, used their combined influence to have Chuck omitted from the Bible. Shortly after all three died of roundhouse kick related deaths.
